Buba: German household investments strengthen

Households' financial investment increased for the fourth quarter in a row, the Bundesbank's statistics on households and non-financial corporations for the first three months of 2010, published on 28 July, showed.

Households' financial investment in the first quarter amounted to more than €51 billion ($67 billion), matching the same quarter last year. Households mainly put their money in liquid bank deposits and insurance assets, which increased by €16.5 billion net on the quarter. Financial
