The number of Japanese who expect the economy will have shrank in a year's time increased, according to the results of a survey published on Monday by the Bank of Japan.

The proportion of respondents who expected the economy to worsen by December this year rose to 31.7%, a gain of 11.1 percentage points from September. Only 8.6% saw the economy improving, a decline of 6.3 percentage points from the September survey.

The number of people who thought the interest rate was too low decreased by 1.2
