Although the German economy has shown signs of improvement in the third quarter of this year, industrial investment is likely to have declined and private consumption stagnated at best, according to the Bundesbank's Monthly Report for October, published last Tuesday.

The consumer price index declined 0.3% in September compared to the previous year, with the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), a eurozone inflation index, showing the year-on-year rate of inflation was -0.5%, compared to -0
