Central Bank of Samoa - Annual Report 2007/08
During the 2007/08 financial year, the Central Bank of Samoa finalised the new designs of its banknotes for launch in the 2008/2009 financial year, says Leasi Papalii Tommy Scanlan, the governor of the central bank, in the latest Annual Report.
Scanlan said the new note designs incorporated some key features of Samoa's natural environment, economy and history. He said they were also designed with additional security features to minimise and discourage the production of counterfeit notes.
