According to the National Bank of Denmark's Annual Report 2005, the economic upswing in Denmark became even stronger in 2005.

'GDP grew by 3.4 per cent, against 1.9 per cent in 2004. Private consumption rose considerably as a result of higher disposable incomes, low interest rates, new loan products and accelerating housing prices. Housing prices increased by 22 per cent for the full year. Exports and imports rose significantly, and the current-account surplus remained high. At 1.7 per cent
