Bank of Namibia - Annual Report 2006

According to the Bank of Namibia's Annual Report 2006, despite tighter monetary conditions, the Namibian economy was estimated to have performed moderately better in 2006 than in 2005.

Real GDP growth was estimated to have increased to 4.6 percent during 2006, compared to a growth of 4.2 percent during 2005. The growth could be attributed to the strong performance in the primary industry, particularly the mining sector that responded to improved international mineral prices, while the agriculture
