Sveriges Riksbank - Annual Report 2008

The Riksbank's net income in 2008 amounted to SKr11.2 billion ($1.42 billion), an increase of SKr 7.1 billion compared with 2007.

The increase is partly due to the fact that the central bank increased its lending to the Swedish banks because of the financial crisis, leading to an increase in net interest income.
