The Bank of Tanzania implemented a regulatory overhaul in 2006.
All existing regulations were reviewed to incorporate changes brought by the new legislation and market developments. New regulations governing business continuity management, responsibilities of directors and senior management, outsourcing and physical security measures were introduced.
The central bank also continued with its preparation of migrating from traditional transaction-based supervision of banks and non-bank financial
