RBA Statement on Monetary Policy, May 2006

The Reserve Bank of Australia published its May 2006 Statement on Monetary Policy on 5 May. The Australian economy is continuing to benefit from favourable international conditions, according to the report.

"Consumer price inflation has to date been well contained but in the March quarter was higher than expected, with the CPI rising by 0.9 pct in the quarter and by 3.0 pct over the year," the RBA said.
