The Georgian economy grew by 9.4% in 2006. But end-of-year inflation was well above the 6% upper boundary of the target range at 8.8%.
Cash became easier to access, as the number of ATMs increased more than threefold (330%). The number of bank cards similarly rose by more than threefold (360%). The number of plastic cards in Georgia now exceeds 920, 000.
