Denmark's Annual Report

Denmark's central bank started work on a new note series in 2006, the annual report notes, with the series planned to start hitting the streets in 2009.

The theme for the illustrations on the notes is Danish bridges. "This theme reflects Denmark's position as a country surrounded by water and connected by bridges," the central bank said.

From a shortlist of eight, the designs of Karin Birgitte Lund were chosen for the notes in May this year. A bill was placed before the Danish parliament in 2006
