Central Bank of Iran - Annual Report 2006/07

In the 2006/07 financial year, inflation increased above the target set in Iran's five-year development plan in part due to the central bank's lack of independence, it notes in its latest Annual Report.

The report was published in March 2008.

The report says that the imbalance between the government revenues and expenses, and the central bank's lack of independence to use efficient monetary instruments were among the main drivers of inflation.
