Central Bank of Kenya - Annual Report 2007/ 08
The Kenyan economy suffered major setbacks and inflationary pressures following the December 2007 election crisis, notes the latest Annual Report of the Central Bank of Kenya.
The monetary objective of maintaining inflation at 5% for the fiscal year 2007/08 was not achieved owing to the political turmoil. However, the report says that the temporary inflationary pressures caused by the election crisis and high international commodity prices are easing and some sectors such as tourism started
