Reserve Bank of Malawi - Annual Report 2004

According to the Reserve Bank of Malawi's Annual Report 2004, real output for 2004 grew by 4.6 percent from 3.9 percent reported in 2003.

The improvement was on account of robust growth rates registered in the construction, electricity and water, manufacturing, services, and large-scale agriculture sub-sectors. Monetary developments in 2004 continued to be expansionary as growth in money supply was not consistent with real output and price developments. Money supply grew by 29.8 percent compared
