Bangladesh Bank - Annual Report 2006-2007

The Bangladeshi economy grew by 6.5% from July 2006 to June 2007, boosted by the strong performance of the manufacturing and services industries.

The agriculture sector's contribution was less impressive after the pace of expansion fell from 4.9% in the 2006 financial year to 3.2%. The slowdown was largely a result of lower growth in the crops and horticulture sub-sectors.

Annual inflation increased slightly from 7.16% in the 12 months to June 2006 to 7.2% in the 12 months to June 2007.
