Norges Bank Inflation Report, March 2006

Norges Bank published its First Inflation Report for March 2006 on Thursday 16 March. The overall assessment in the Inflation Report is in line with the strategy in the previous Report.

The assessment implies a gradual increase in the interest rate - in small, not too frequent steps - towards a more normal level. The monetary policy strategy in Inflation Report 1/06 is that the sight deposit rate should lie in the interval 2-3 per cent in the period to the publication of the next Inflation Report
