Bank of Sudan - Annual Report 2006

The Sudanese economy had a strong year in 2006 as growth increased from 8.1% in 2005 to 9.3% and the inflation rate dropped, falling from 8.4% to 7.2%.

The money supply rose by 27.4%. The balance of payments switched from a surplus to a deficit of $208.6m, which the Bank of Sudan blamed on a significant rise in the current account deficit.
