Early retirement due to ‘long outstanding leave days’, central bank says
Ghana's central bank governor is retiring more than four months before his statutory retirement date, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) announced on March 29.
Governor Henry Wampah would step down with effect from April 1 rather than his scheduled retirement date of August 5 "in view of his long outstanding leave days", the central bank said in a statement.
