Bundesbank board approves Claudia Buch for vice-president
Buch to join Bundesbank shortly, though her exact duties are yet to be confirmed
The board of the Deutsche Bundesbank has recommended the appointment of Claudia Buch to replace Sabine Lautenschläger as vice-president, following a hearing at the German central bank this morning.
Buch, whose appointment will need to be confirmed by the German federal government, has been president of the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) since June last year. She is also a professor in economics at Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg.
She was nominated by the government last week
