AfDB ‘information highway’ seeks to drive data sharing

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has announced plans to establish an ‘information highway' of live data links between central banks and statistical agencies, on both a national and international level.
Institutions are being encouraged to submit data to a freely available 'Opendata Platform', managed and funded by the AfDB. The bank hopes the shared database will "revolutionise data management" and improve public access to official information.
