New government member for Reserve Bank of India’s board

The Reserve Bank of India revealed on February 23 that the Indian government had nominated DK Mittal to sit on the central bank's board of directors.

Mittal, who was previously secretary in the department of financial services at the Indian Ministry of Finance, was made a director on the central board of directors of the Reserve Bank of India with effect from February 7, 2012 and "until further orders", said the central bank.
