Alamsyah claims deputy spot at Bank Indonesia
The Finance Commission of Indonesia's House of Representatives on Monday voted in favour of Halim Alamsyah, a former director at the research and banking management directorate, to replace Siti Fadjriah, whose term ends this month.
A spokesman at the central bank in Jakarta confirmed that Alamsyah won 29 of the 53 votes, five ahead of second place Krisna Wijaya, a commissioner with Bank Danamon. Perry Warjiyo, the central bank's director of monetary policy, received no votes.
