Indonesian finance chief nominated for governor

Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Indonesia's finance minister, has been nominated to replace Boediono at the helm of the country's central bank.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesia's president, nominated Sri Mulyani on Thursday. Parliament must now approve the nomination.

The president can name a further two nominees.

Sri Mulyani is held in high regard but some investors fear that a competent successor for her role at the finance ministry could not be found.
