Juncker issues icy reply to Trichet

Jean-Claude Trichet, the European Central Bank president, has been sharply criticised by Jean-Claude Juncker, Luxembourg's prime minister, in an interview with Financial Times Deutschland, for refusing to discuss strengthening economic co-operation within the eurozone.

Juncker's comments in an interview with Financial Times Deutschland, highlighted his frustration at the icy response in Frankfurt to a letter he sent Mr Trichet, proposing a closer dialogue between politicians and the central bank
