Riksbank deputy to step down

Irma Rosenberg, the first deputy governor at the Riksbank, will leave the institution at the end of the year.

Rosenberg, the central bank's spokesperson for monetary and currency policy, could have been re-elected but opted to retire.

"My period of office expires now and bearing in mind my age, I have decided that the time has come to spend more time with family and friends and on leisure activities," said Rosenberg.
