Fisher: Fed won't let inflation raise "ugly head"

Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher said on Tuesday 14 february that the Federal Reserve is committed to pursuing monetary policy that supports economic growth without higher inflation.

"The Fed is, and will remain, ever vigilant in pursuing its mandate of providing sustainable non-inflationary growth," Fisher told the Rotary Club of Little Rock.

Fisher, a non-voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee in 2006, later told reporters that the Fed "will not allow inflation to raise its ugly
