ECB's Mersch sees inflation risks from oil

European Central Bank council member Yves Mersch said in an interview he is concerned about a surge in liquidity and oil prices pushing up inflation.

Money-supply growth is giving ``some indication that there are upside risks to price stability over the medium to long term, which is also seen in the real side of the economy in the short to medium term,'' Mersch said in an interview at an event in Luxembourg late Monday with Bloomberg.
