Greenspan farewell party set for December

Finance ministers and central bank presidents from the G7 nations have ensured Alan Greenspan's departure will not go unnoticed with a special session scheduled for December in London as a farewell party.

In addition to their usual reviews of currency rates and trade deficits, they intend to honour Greenspan for his 18 years of service at the Federal Reserve.

The meeting was announced in the group's joint communique last Friday, and would be Greenspan's last appearance at a G7 finance gathering
