Spain's Ordonez pledges to support ECB

Miguel Angel Fernandez Ordonez, the new governor of the Bank of Spain, said Tuesday 18 July his central bank will continue to strengthen the support it offers the European Central Bank.

"Our first challenge is to bolster even more the international prestige of the Bank of Spain in the research and support we provide to the ECB governing council," Fernandez Ordonez told an audience of bankers, government officials and journalists in his first public comments after assuming the Bank of Spain's
