Israel's Fischer says fighting damages economy

The conflict between Israel and Hizbollah has had a "considerable" negative impact on Israel's economy but financial markets are expressing confidence it will bounce back, Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer told CNBC television on Tuesday 25 July.

"The impact on production and the economy has been considerable because most of the north is under fire and people have not been able to get to their jobs," he said in an interview.

Fischer stressed on CNBC that the Bank of Israel would do what it
