Karvalits says Hungary can reach CPI goal

The Hungarian central bank's (NBH) medium-term inflation goal can be reached even at an exchange rate weaker than the current one, Ferenc Karvalits, nominated as deputy governor said on Monday 26 March.

"The medium-term inflation goal may be achieved even at a weaker exchange rate than the current one, it (the exchange rate) does not constitute a direct risk," Karvalits told the Budget Committee in Parliament after gaining approval of the Economic Committee earlier in the day.
