Slovak parliament approves NBS vice-governor

Slovakia's parliament approved the nomination of current Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Tvaroska, 34, as the new vice-governor of the Slovak central bank (NBS) on 16 March.

81 of 85 MPs supported the nomination, TASR news agency reported.

In a purely official act, Slovak President Ivan Gasparovie will appoint the new vice-governor to the post.

Tvaroska will replace current NBS vice-governor Elena Kohutikova, who reached the term limit allowed by law as a member of the central bank's board.
