Zeti says guidelines for takaful operators soon

The guidelines set for takaful operators in Malaysia will be issued "soon," according to Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

The guidelines will establish the parameters within which the takaful operators run their business, while allowing for different takaful models currently adopted by the respective players to continue to operate, she said without specifying a timetable for the release.

Zeti said the country's key interest rate would remain at 3.5% for the time being because
