Trichet says no foregone decision on rates

Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, said Monday 20 March that its governing council had not already decided to continue with a series of monthly rate increases.

When asked whether the ECB could raise its main refinancing rate to 3% before this summer, Trichet replied on LCI Television that the governing council had two messages.
