Kate Barker reappointed to Bank of England's MPC

Kate Barker, who recently completed the Barker Review of Land Use Planning, was reappointed to the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) for a further three-year term on Monday 23 April, becoming the first external member to serve a third term.

Barker's current term of office is due to expire on 31 May 2007.

"I am delighted that Kate Barker has agreed to serve a further term on the Monetary Policy Committee," said Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown.
