Buba's Remsperger sees German recovery into 2008

Bundesbank executive board member Hermann Remsperger said in an interview with the Financial Times published Monday 29 January Germany's economic recovery has a good chance of continuing beyond 2007 and into next year.

"The German upswing in 2006 was not a one-year wonder," Remsperger told the newspaper.

"The process of recovery had already begun before 2006 and despite some risks the chances are good that the upward movement will continue beyond the current year into 2008," he said.
