Bahrain to host 39th GCC meeting

Bahrain will host the 39th meeting of the governors of central banks and monetary agencies of the six-state Gulf Cooperation Council scheduled for 14-15 September.

The governors will be discussing reports by a committee tasked with combating money laundering, the single GCC currency which should be introduced no later than 2010 besides the institutional mechanism for the joint GCC monetary authority and its prerogatives.

The agenda will also cover discussions on GCC monetary developments
