EU will avoid downturn: Juncker

Europe will not follow the United States into recession said Jean-Claude Juncker, Luxembourg's prime minister and finance minister, on Monday.

Juncker, the president of the Eurogroup of EU finance ministers, told Les Echos, a French newspaper, that the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) estimate that eurozone growth would hit 1.6% was "not credible at all."
