Two-thirds of central banks forecast policy rate in main models

But relatively few make their rate forecasts public

Close to two-thirds of central banks include a forecast for the policy rate in their main models, data from the Economics Benchmarks 2024 shows.

Twenty-three of 34 respondents (67.6%) include a forecast for the policy rate in the key models they use to produce headline projections. However, of these 23 central banks, only six (26.1%) publish the rate forecasts.
