Central banks maintain average of four cash centres

Figure has remained stable for the last five years

The average central bank maintains around four cash and coin distribution centres, a figure that has remained largely stable in the last five years.

In the Currency Benchmarks 2023, 33 central banks supplied data on the number of distribution facilities they maintain. Across the sample, the average number of cash and coin distribution centres was 4.15.  Five years ago, the same 33 central banks maintained an average of 4.3 distribution hubs.

Both figures are a decline from the Currency
