Donald Trump launched his own cryptocurrency meme coin on January 17, just three days before being inaugurated as the 47th US president.

The meme coin $Trump was being priced at $50 today (January 20). It had previously reached a notional $70 valuation over the weekend, before the president-elect’s wife launched her own coin, $Melania, on Sunday.

After accepting millions of dollars-worth of crypto campaign donations, the Trump administration is likely to make a US central bank digital currency
