CNB ‘considered’ adding bitcoin to reserves – governor
Michl says central bank could “continue to debate” using cryptocurrency in diversification drive
The governor of the Czech National Bank (CNB) has said that he considered adding “just a few bitcoins” to the bank’s reserves.
In an interview on January 5, Aleš Michl told broadcaster CNN Prima News that “luckily” there were seven members on the CNB board, thus implying that his suggestion was rejected.
However, Michl added that the board could “continue to debate about it.”
The topic came up in the context of the need for the central bank to diversify its holdings.
