Moldovan instant payments system used over 100,000 times
Central bank says new system’s use will expand to businesses this year
The Moldovan instant payments system, MIA, has been used in more than 100,000 transactions since its launch in March, the National Bank of Moldova announced on April 22.
The new system has been used to transfer 100 million lei ($5.6 million) in less than six weeks, the central bank said. It currently only supports person-to-person transactions based on phone numbers.
