Kosovo’s central bank rules cash transactions must be in euros
From February 1, currencies such as the Serbian dinar will not be accepted
The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo issued a decree on January 17 stating that the euro would be the only currency permitted for cash payment transactions from February 1.
The restrictions will affect the Serb minority in Kosovo who use the Serbian dinar. The decision comes after talks to normalise ties between the two Balkan states broke down last year.
