Biden may nominate Kugler, promote Jefferson on Fed board – reports
Adriana Kugler would be the first Latinx Fed governor in the central bank’s 109-year history
US president Joe Biden is considering nominating Adriana Kugler to the Federal Reserve’s board of governors, according to media reports. The White House is also reportedly considering promoting Philip Jefferson to vice-chair.
In February, then vice-chair Lael Brainard left an open seat on the board when she was hired as director of Biden’s National Economic Council.
If confirmed, Kugler, a Colombian American, would be the first Latinx governor to serve on the board in the Federal Reserve’s
