People: BIS appoints deputy head of MED
Riksbank to shrink board; De La Rue chair resigns; Hungary appoints MPC members
Basel: The Bank for International Settlements has appointed Gaston Gelos as the new deputy head of its monetary and economic department (MED), for a five-year term. He will also be head of financial stability policy.
Gelos will move to the Basel-based institution in September. He joins from the International Monetary Fund, where he is assistant director in the western hemisphere department and mission chief for Mexico.
