Nigerian court orders security service to stop harassing governor
Politicians’ anger over cash restrictions during election may be behind pressure, observers say
A Nigerian court ordered the country’s security service to stop attempting to arrest the country’s central bank governor, local media reported.
The Federal Capital Territory court in Abuja province ordered the Department of State Services to stop trying to arrest Godwin Emefiele, the Premium Times said. The court acted in response to a suit filed by a Nigerian civil society group, the Forum for Accountability and Good Leadership.
