Harvesh Seegolam released on bail after being charged with fraud in embezzlement case

A former Bank of Mauritius governor has been arrested and charged with fraud over the alleged embezzlement of funds from a central bank-owned investment vehicle.
Harvesh Seegolam was arrested by Mauritius’s financial crimes commission yesterday (April 9) for “fraud by abuse of position” along with former finance minister Renganaden Padayachy.
