Palestine weathers ‘complex crises’ but faces further slowdown

Unemployment remains high and the government’s budget under severe stress

The Palestinian economy is facing a second year of slowdown despite managing to continue growing amid the “complex crises” of 2022, the Palestine Monetary Authority said on December 28.

The PMA estimated the economies of the West Bank and Gaza had grown 3.6% in aggregate in 2022, down from 7% a year earlier.
