A majority of central banks expect the sanctions on the Bank of Russia to have a long-term effect on reserve management, data from the Reserve Benchmarks 2022 shows.
Out of 41 respondents, close to 59% think it will have a long-term effect. In contrast, over 41% said sanctions will not have a lasting impact on reserve managers globally.
